Buffalo Powder Horn,
15-1/2", turned antler spout,
South Eastern Native scrimshaw, antler powder measure,
hand made, new, by Scott & Cathy Sibley
Part Number: AAV-571
Availability: In Stock
Price: $410.00
This beautiful hand made Buffalo powder horn measures 15-1/2" long, as measured around the outer curve from the tip to the base. The 2-1/4" long spout is made of turned antler and retained with small wooden pegs. A decorative hand carved wooden stopper is fitted. A large iron staple is fitted to the side of the horn just below the spout for securing a strap.

The body of the buffalo horn is pure black in color. Buffalo horn differs from cow horn and the smooth hand scraped finish displays some of the natural grain of the horn along the body. South Eastern Native scrimshawed geometric designs are filled in with red and yellow ink to provide a nice contrast with the black horn body. The 3-1/4" diameter base plug is shaped with a large turned finial for securing a strap. Small wooden pegs secure the base to the horn.
A two piece horn/antler powder measure is retained to the horn with a strip of brain tan buckskin.

The perfect powder horn for your next reenactment. Hand made by Scott & Cathy Sibley. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
