A used book in good condition. Stock photo shown. A fine book on the every day clothing of the farmer, laborer, and tradesmen between 1750 and 1820, both men and women. Highly illustrated with patterns, instructions, period artwork, and black & white photographs of original articles of clothing.
The first chapter includes general sewing techniques. Chapter two, women's apparel, includes shortgowns, petticoats, kerchiefs, aprons, caps, pockets, and flat hats. Chapter two, men's apparel, includes shirts, breeches, neckerchiefs, waistcoats, coats, greatcoats, buttons, and hats. Chapter four includes general apparel for both men and women including shoes, buckles, stockings, and garters.
A must have book for the 18th and 19th century historian, re-enactor, and costume maker.
