Smoothbore Pistol,
.69 caliber smoothbore, 9" barrel,
flintlock, beech, brass,
used, made in Japan by Miroku

The round barrel is 9" length, with a .69" caliber smoothbore. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. The polished bright barrel has aged to a speckled brown patina. No front or rear sights are fitted, nor are any expected on a short range pistol. The barrel is drilled with a direct drilled vent hole that is positioned a bit forward from the center of the pan. The left side of the barrel is stamped Dixie Gun Works / Japan E 225 near the breech.
The lock on this pistol has very basic internals with wire sear spring and a very weak mainspring. It does not spark at all. The lock plate on this pistol is marked with a crown over GR, indicating ownership by the King (Georgius Rex). The tail of the plate is stamped Tower. The polished bright lock has a speckled brown patina that matches the barrel. The single trigger requires a firm pull to release the lock.
A good pistol for decorator use or to carry as part of a historic impression. It is non-functional as-is. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
